LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/. Should see more in way of higher clouds but still plenty of sunshine. Increasing SW flow Thursday starts our warming trend through the end of the week, with highs into low to mid 60s. We should see another night of good radiational cooling conditions inland, although it won't be quite as cold as this morning, so we're not planning on any additional frost/freeze headlines for south coastal areas. Warm advection gets underway tonight and Thursday as high pressure moves offshore. ![]() After a chilly start, highs should rebound into low to mid 50s this afternoon. High pressure will remain over New England today, resulting in plenty of sunshine and light winds. Additionally, we're not expecting much in way of frost with temperature/dewpoint spreads of at least 5-10 degrees. Planning to keep Freeze Warning posted for south coastal RI/MA although it certainly looks marginal at this point. We're even seeing some bands of ocean effect clouds near outer Cape and Nantucket, which should gradually move farther offshore this morning. Winds have dropped off across much of interior where temperatures have fallen into 20s, while there's still enough of a northerly wind closer to coast to keep readings in 30s and lower 40s. Otherwise, expected a brilliant bluebird day today across southern New England with temps near or slightly below normal. Kept the freeze warning in place a some locations under the warning have touched the freezing mark, but the product should be able to come down by 14Z. Temperatures range from the mid 20s across the interior to the low 40s on Cape Cod. No changes were made to the previous forecast. Rather tranquil November weather continues. Ongoing forecast continued to track well against observed trends, so only made minor tweaks to temperatures heading into this afternoon. A strong cold front ushers in a cold, dry airmass to end the weekend as below normal temperatures take hold through at least the beginning of the work week. Remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole bring the threat of urban and poor drainage flooding as well as gusty winds to the area late Friday through Saturday afternoon. High pressure over New England will move offshore tonight and Thursday, which will allow for a warming trend through the end of the week.
